Bernd Ulmann

Prof. Dr. Bernd Ulmann is a world-leading expert in analog and hybrid computing. He is the author of several recent books in this field, including Analog and Hybrid Computer Programming (DeGruyter, 2020). He is a professor for business informatics at FOM University of Applied Sciences, a private college in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. Dr. Ulmann is the conceptional lead of anabrid.

Dirk Killat

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dirk Killat is a professor for microelectronics and an expert in the field of energy efficient analog circuits, System-on-Chip for industry, automotive, power management and consumer electronics applications. He has commercialized successful products with millions of units sold at Dialog semiconductor, which has since been acquired by Apple Inc. Currently, his work is focused mainly on energy efficient analog/digital conversion and DC/DC voltage converters. He holds 21 patents.

Lars Heimann

Dipl.-Ing. Lars Heimann is Head of Business and responsible for all business intelligence solutions as well as implementing technology solutions. He brings years of experience in the Banking and Financial Services Industry to the table and has a background in Quantitative Finance Computing, Aerospace Technology and Power Plant Engineering and Design. He specializes in all aspects of Business Intelligence and heads the Business Development Department. He is known to design his own lego planes.

Sven Köppel

Dr. Sven Köppel is a quantum physicist and an expert in numerical solutions of partial differential equations (PDEs). As a part of his PhD project, he has developed energy efficient codes for simulating black holes and gravitational waves. He was a deputy chief investigator of an international three-year research project on efficiently solving hyperbolic PDEs on exascale computers. He is a frequent academic speaker whose experience extends across several fields including life science and medical engineering.

Kerstin Hafemeister

Kerstin Hafemeister has been working in business development for software companies for several years and joins the anabrid family in the area of business development and strategic development. She has a background in social sciences and economics with a focus on technology marketing. Kerstin will be working for anabrid in Berlin.


Thomas Fischer

Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas Fischer teaches design at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China. Having taught and researched internationally for over 20 years, he has an extensive track record in design computing and cybernetics. He is a Fellow of the Design Research Society, a Fellow of the Cybernetics Society, a Certified Talent of the International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences, and a recipient of the American Society for Cybernetics' Warren McCulloch Award. He serves as anabrid's Chief Design Officer.

Lucas Wetzel

Dr. Lucas Wetzel is an experienced theoretical physicist with a background in synchronization phenomena and the unique ability to bring together abstract theoretical fundamental research with practical electrical engineering. He led teams at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems and joined our team as a project manager and senior scientist in 2023. He will lead the biggest research and development project anabrid is currently carrying out for the German aerospace center.

Michael Steck

Michael Steck has a background in physics (with a fondness for sub-atomic particle and accelerator physics) and computer science (with a focus on computer vision and inverse reinforcement learning). Before joining anabrid, Michael worked as a python software engineer for web backends, desktop applications and embedded systems. As anabrid's software architect, he is responsible for developing the digital aspects of our hybrid computing systems.


Maikel Hajiabadi

Maikel Hajiabadi is an anabrid researcher with a background in mathematics (specialized in algebraic topology) and economics. Before joining anabrid, Maikel spent more than 1.5 years in Japan, studying the language and culture. After a 10-month language course, Maikel worked remotely for a Japanese-Thai agri-tech company as a researcher and business developer. During that time, he traveled through Japan to expand his knowledge and become a Japan expert.

Nick Baberuxki

Nick Baberuxki has a background in mathematics and physics. His research is focused on numerical and applied mathematics. As a part of his studies in physics, he was a member of the particle-physics phenomenology group at the University of Göttingen. He worked on the Monte Carlo event generator Sherpa and developed theoretical methods to predict the outcome of high-energy collider experiments like the LHC. At anabird, Nick conducts research in the realm of quantum computing.


Martin Beil

Martin Beil graduated as an electronic engineer with a focus on analog circuits. Having been responsible for electronics design at two startup companies, he is experienced in creating circuits and PCBs for various applications such as sensors, controllers, and embedded systems, which have to withstand severe EMI exposure. Martin got intrigued by analog computers while working on his bachelor's thesis, for which he investigated the use of FPAA-ICs for analog computing. At anabrid, he is a member of the electronics team based in Ulm.


Johannes Fritzsche

Johannes Fritzsche is an IT systems electronics technician. He gained experience inspecting memory and ASIC components at the measuring technology department of a semiconductor manufacturer in Dresden, Germany. He also has experience as an Employment and Vocational Development Specialist in a rehabilitation facility and an additional qualification in socio-psychiatry. Additionally, he has extensive experience as a media educator and studio engineer, having worked for an educational radio station. Furthermore, he is involved in bringing together the arts and sciences with independent developers and artists.


Rikka Mitsam

Rikka Mitsam has a background in computer science and has been working in parts purchasing and accounting for years before joining anabrid in order to support also for our dispatching and buyership consulting process. Rikka is working at the anabrid dispatch station in Frankfurt.


Max Kühn

Max Kühn was apprenticed in electronic manufacturing service and currently studies automation technology. He is an expert in electronics and programming. He carries out an internship at our electronics laboratory in Ulm.


Anna-Lena Bihler

Anna-Lena Bihler was apprenticed as an electronics technician for automation and has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on automation and power electronics. Currently she continues her studies at University Ulm. Anna-Lena joined anabrid as a working student and is a member of the electronics team based in Ulm.
